University of Santo Tomas (UST) drew double-digit production from four key players, including MVP Juvelyn Andaya, to beat St. Scholastica's College, 85-74, and win the collegiate crown of the Milo-sponsored Women's Basketball League (WBL) over the weekend at the Xavier School gym.

Mary Joy Galicia top-scored with 22 points, Regine Divina poured in 21 and Rubelyn Mendoza contributed 13 to go with the 17 of Andaya, who had a hard time shaking off her defenders.

Miriam College meanwhile bagged the High School competitive and elementary division titles of the Basketball Efficiency and Scientific Training (BEST) Center-organized tournament.

Miriam survived La Salle-Antipolo, 64-60, in HS competitive, with MVP Jennifer Dimaano pacing the Katipunan-based team with 12 points. Rookie Danica Therese Jose, daughter of former PBA player Bobby, had 11 points.

Miriam then watched Assumption miss an under-goal stab in the final two seconds to escape with a 42-41 win and the title in the elementary category.

Assumption, led by Martina Lumba, who scored all her eight points in the fourth quarter, earlier combined with Katrina Nemo, Alessandra Eala and Carmina Tioseco to trim Miriam's 11-point lead to just one.

Balanced scoring carried Montessori Integrated School past New Era, 38-37, for the HS developmental crown.
