    Olivarez d. New Era, 82-81 OT

    Home side Olivarez College needed overtime to clinch the fourth and final semifinal berth at the 25th Sta. Lucia Land National Capital Region Athletic Association (NCRAA) by nipping visiting New Era University, 82-81, Friday afternoon. Veteran guard Pruvil Bermudes forced the overtime with a triple at the seven-second mark of regulation, 72-72, and then completed his heroics with the go-ahead basket also with seven ticks left in the extension.     PMMS d. PATTS, 79-78

    Martin Manatad may have scored only two points but his basket with 20 seconds left was enough to lift Philippine Merchant Marine School over PATTS College of Aeronautics, 79-78, at the 25th Sta. Lucia Land National Capital Region Athletic Association (NCRAA) Playoffs Friday at Olivarez College. Manatad's field goal completed the Mariners' dizzying rally from 20 points down at the start of the final period, 47-67, and barge into the semfinals. READ MORE

    This time, Group B top seed AMA University Titans made sure from the opening tip and sent in their regular starters to blow away De La Salle University-Dasmarinas, 97-73, in continuing action from the 25th Sta. Lucia Land National Capital Region Athletic Association (NCRAA) Friday at Olivarez College.     Streaking De Ocampo Memorial College claimed the first semifinal berth in the 25th Sta. Lucia Land National Capital Region Athletic Association (NCRAA) by upsetting higher-ranked Saint Francis of Assisi College, 78-70, at Olivarez College Friday morning. Atoning for a scoreless first half, Dahrrel Caranguian struck hardest in the fourth period as the Cobras tallied their seventh straight win in the tournament after dropping their first two including an 85-96 drubbing at the hands of the same Doves last December 12.     Olivarez College booked the second and last slot in the championship series of the 25th Sta. Lucia Land National Capital Region Athletic Association (NCRAA) by outlasting Philippine Merchant Marine School, 68-60, in Final Four action Tuesday at PATTS College of Aeronautics.     For the nth time, Dahrrel Caranguian bailed out De Ocampo Memorial College and this time it sent the Cobras into the best of three finals of the 25th Sta. Lucia Land National Capital Region Athletic Association (NCRAA) after they bested AMA University, 108-106, in Final Four action from PATTS College of Aeronautics Tuesday morning. Lucia Land National Capital Region Athletic Association (NCRAA) Seniors Basketball Finals over De Ocampo Memorial College, 89-86, at their own home court Friday morning.     Philippine Merchant Marine School ended its season on a positive note by taking home Third Place of the 25th Sta. Lucia Land National Capital Region Athletic Association (NCRAA) Seniors Basketball at the expense of AMA University, 84-77, Tuesday morning at Olivarez College.
