Interclub '83
Another big amateur cagefest reels off

While Professional basketball takes a hiatus, there seems to be no let up in the amateur side of caging. The PABL Founder's Cup has crossed the playoff line, so as not to have even a brief gap in amateur caging, the Interclub organizers decided to unfurl its 1983-84 season even before the closing rites of the PABL Founders' Cup.
16 teams, the biggest turnout ever, are seeing action in the seventh edition of the Interclub, which reeled off last November 28 at the Rizal Memorial coliseum. Bunched in Group A are Adamson University, Ermita Tourist Inn-UM, Perpetual Savings Bank, Philippine Maritime Colleges, Philippine School of Business Administration, San Beda College, University of the Philippines, and University of Santo Tomas.
Slugging it out in Group B are Concrete Aggregates Corp., Development Bank of Rizal, EPZA, Ministry of Agrarian Reform IV, National College of Business Administration, Philippine Social Security Labor Union, Technics-FEU, and University of the East.
A single elimination round will be conducted with the four teams topping each group advancing into the final round of eight, which will start on January 10.
