    * * *Iloilo survived a tough challenge from the visiting Manila Capitals, 104-98, in a highly intense contest.* Better shooting down the stretch served the Mang Inasal quintet of Robert Uy and Coach Jerry Jaranilla well as they held off the Capitals’ repeated attempts to rally.

    * * *Five Iloilo players scored at least 16 or more points led by Vengie Vergara with 19 via three triples.* Eldrin Senierez and Stanley Tizon added 18 each.* Eugene Tan scored 16 plus 12 assists and Francis Barcellano also had 16 on top of his nine rebounds.* Jeffrey Sanders led the Caps of Coach Junel Mendiola and Vice-Mayor Isko Moreno with 20 followed by Kris Robles with 16 markers.

    * * *Axel Doruelo led the Stallions with 16 while RB Mangahas chipped in 15.* Charleston Bolias paced the Zambos with 22 followed by Bart Merced with 13 points and nine rebounds.

    * * *The four participating teams will still slug it out tonight to end the preliminary round with valuable Liga Tour points awarded to the winners.* They meet the same opponents anew 24 hours later in the games made possible by Smart, ML Kwarta Padala, Accel, Burlington, Laptop Phoneshop Exchange, Nature's Spring and Molten and sanctioned by the Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas (SBP).
