Cebu Niños seek spare guard

THE M. Lhuillier Kwarta Padala-Cebu Niños are still searching for a point guard to boost their campaign in the Tournament of the Philippines.
“In this kind of tournament, where you need to play every day, we really need to have a spare point guard,” coach Yayoy Alcoseba told Sun.Star Cebu.
The Niños only have Mark Ababon and Warren Ybañez as their playmakers after longtime guard Woodrow Enriquez was officially ruled out of the lineup because of a spinal injury.
Enriquez’s father, Fredo, who is also a long -time assistant of Alcoseba, confirmed his son can no longer play basketball.
“Woodrow is doing fine now. He can move, but his movements are limited. He is under rehabilitation and his basketball days are over. He can no longer play,” said Fredo, a former PBA player.
Fredo was grateful to team owner Michel Lhuillier for the support they gave his son.
“The company spent almost P2 million for the hospitalization and rehabilitation of Woodrow. In addition, his (service) contract was renewed despite his being out of action,” he said.
