The first phase of the Olympians gaining a berth to the Sweet 16 of the PCC is through the wilcard Phase
The WC Phase will determine the four teams that will qualify for the Interzonals. The top two teams will
join ZOne 2 together with UAAP 4th placer UE, NCAA South Champ Don Bosco and other champion teams from the Quezona and Bicol Provinces.
Teams who will slug it out in the wilcard phase are STI COLLEGE (NAASCU 2nd Place) EAC (UCAA 2nd Place) LYCEUM, and DE OCAMPO as the first group while UST, St. Francis of Assisi, Las Pinas College and St Clare College (NAASCU) will vie for the other slots in the second group.

Two Groups of four teams, Top two teams in each group qualify for the interzonal

Medyo mabibigat ang _tL_g ng mga bata. STI played catch up when Lyceum broke the game open and STI lost 88-86. Lyceum played well while the Olympians were quite erratic and often relaxed in defense.
Imagine, the final 1:20 Lyceum was up by 10, 85-75 and the Olympians clawed back to score 8 consecutive points from steals plus and one plays. Then Lyceum sank a three pointer with 10 seconds left to go up 88-83, on the other end STI answered with a three pointer and a steal but failed to convert the last basket.

Sayang yung non-call on the shot clock violation that resulted to 2 Lyceum points. From the a little over 7 minutes I saw it looked like Lyceum really played better although STI showed what they're capable of by stringing consecutive points in a short time. Can't wait to see how Nonoy fares against the UST Tigers' PGs. He virtually toyed with Milan while he was still part of the UST Team but he never got the chance to go up against Jeric and Tata. According to Manong Joe Nonoy played well enough to play long minutes until his former colors showed up. Di ko man lang inabot.
