Joshua Gonzales transfers to DLSU according to a post on dlsu thread on PEX. Confirmed na daw according to UE insiders, good luck to the kid.

Alvin Pasaol will be the next UE star. He does everything at a high level. Kailangan na lang getting him settled down pagdating sa atatan ng mga kalaban.

The UAAP is very strict with disciplining players, at sa dami ng camera ng ABS CBN sigurado mahuhuli at mahuhuli kahit gaano pa kagaling sumimple ang player.

UE needs Pasaol now to be the go-to guy, and that means he can no longer sacrifice himself to getting under the skin of opponents, let somebody else do that.

Masyado na valuable ngayon si Pasaol para maging role player, Every team needs a go-to guy, and until someone else emerges, that guy is Pasaol for UE.

Clark Derige shines as UE Red Warriors pull away late to keep UST Tigers winless

UNIVERSITY of the East pulled away late to hack out an 80-67 win over University of Sto. Tomas in the Filoil Flying V Preseason premier Cup on Wednesday in San Juan.

Clark Derige fired 16 points, hitting four triples including two in the fourth period.

His first three-pointer sparked an 11-3 surge that gave the Red Warriors a 67-57 advantage with under six minutes left.

In the final stretch Derige hit another trey before Mark Olayon completed a three-point play for a 77-63 lead.

Although the Warriors improved to 2-1 while keeping UST winless in two outings, coach Derrick Pumaren was not too pleased with how his wards played for the most part of the match.

"At the end we were impressive but for the most part of the game I wasn't really happy with the way we're playing," said Pumaren.

"Things that were supposed to do we're not doing. Offensively nagkakanya kanya. They were taking UST lightly akala nila kayang kaya. But we buckled down on defense and we started making outside shots and making stops."

Alvin Pasaol and Olayon added 15 and 13 points, respectively.

Steve Akomo had a double-double outing of 14 points and 14 rebounds on top of four blocks for the Tigers.

    The scores:

    UE 80 - Derige 16, Pasaol 15, Olayon 13, Maloles 7, Abanto 6, Manalang 5, Green 5, Bartolome 4, Varilla 4, Conner 3, Cullar 2, Gagte 0, Acuno 0, Magbuhos 0, Armenion 0.

    UST 67 - Akomo 14, Escalambre 10, Sta. Ana 8, De Guzman 7, Faundo 6, Lee 6, Lorenzana 4, Huang 3, Caunan 3, Garcia 2, Macasaet 2, Afoakwah 2, Garrido 0, Soriano 0.

    Quarterscores: 13-15; 36-34; 56-49; 80-67.

Problema ng mga Pumaren mukhang hindi nila type ang import. Bertrand Awana was not a flashy import, but he was tall and strong, at sa totoo lang mas magaling kesa kina Ikeh ng Ateneo at Akomo ng UST.

Unless the Pumarens have a legit 6-4 or taller na Pinoy big man na magaling magiging small team talaga ang Warriors.

Clark Derige and Nick Abanto are probably at most 6-3, may talent naman sila, malalakas ang katawan, pero they aren't big, as in big.
