pio and shyboy, i read somewhere that kool and the gang and jody watley were touring the UK at the time (jody was still with shalamar back then), and they happened to be in town when bob geldof rang them up, and they accepted the invite.

my get up at the time consisted of the following: longback polo shirt with the shirttail hanging out, lee jeans, and either topsiders or greenhills tretorn shoes na may tatlong punit--kasi nga tretorn, di ba? ;D

There's a bar in Ortigas Home Depot that's playing mostly new wave music. The place is called "I Love 80s." Lots of wall pics of new wave bands and 80s memorabilia.

Definitely a blast from the past.* Anybody seen copies of Jingle issues just before the imposition of Makoy's PD-1081?* They were raunchy as hell!* Looking at the by-lines of the current on-line local dailies, I just realized that a couple of these writers were contributors to Jingle magazine in its various evolutions.*

Medyo OT as far as this thread is concerned but since this is a basketball forum baka papasa ito:* does anybody remember "Cageking", a local basketball-specific tabloid?* When this Forum came out with Basketbolista, it unlocked a small segment of my memory.* A couple of issues of the rag were scattered around the house when I was in prep or thereabouts, but what I remember about them were the cheesecake pics at the end of the issue (talk about a scarred childhood).* Speaking of cheesecake, does "Tik-Tik" ring a bell?* Aminiiiiiiin!!!!!!

O tama na, medyo outside of the ballpark na ito at umaabot na sa Cartimar.

    pwede siguro ito sir.

Yung mga wavers sa Corinthian Gardens Clubhouse
Yung mga punks sa Katrina's sa Mabini (para Slamdancing sila to the max doon w/ referee) :D
Katrinas, blast talaga toits. Bawal naka eye liner dito eh. Yari ke Bayani punk.
I distinctly remember Karla of IC as the muse of the deviant new wavers back on them good old days. I was in Gr. 4 when i first set foot in Katrinas, it was during a live recording by half of the so called "dirty dozens" of pinoy punk bands. Twisted Red Cross!
