Pero ibang level din naman kasi tong Staglets e.*

-These kids are disciplined, Coach Raymond exposed them to a lot of summer tune-up games and teambuildings. I think he aplied coach turo's system to the junior squad.

MANILA, Philippines – San Sebastian College-Recoletos completed a 12-game sweep of the National Collegiate Athletic Association juniors basketball tournament after the Staglets defeated the Jose Rizal University Light Bombers 97-88 in overtime Monday at the Astrodome in Pasay City.

As incentive for the rare sweep, the Staglets will enjoy a twice-to-beat advantage in the championship round.

“Ang sarap ng feeling ng maka-sweep. We always think one game at a time. Last year, kaya naming mag-sweep pero hindi nangyari, kaya pinagtrabahuhan namin ito nang husto this season," said coach Raymond Valenzona.

The Staglets, seeking their fourth straight high-school championship, became the first team to sweep the eliminations since Letran accomplished that feat in 2000.

Arvie Bringas finished with 29 points and eight rebounds, while Almond Vosotros added 26, 10, eight assists, and four steals for the Staglets.

Louie Vigil had 22 points, eight rebounds and four assists, while Keith Agovida, who registered an NCAA record 82 points in the JRU’s last game Friday, wound up with “only" 21.

It was Vigil who sent the game into overtime after drilling a triple to tie the game at 74 with 1.9 seconds left in regulation.

JRU tied it once again at 79 in overtime after a jumper by Ric Madlangbayan at the 3:20 mark, but Bringas and Vosotros took over to ensure a San Sebastian victory.

In the other game, La Salle-Greenhills beat San Beda 77-68 to clinch the last final-four berth.

With the win, the Greenies (7-5) face the Light Bombers (7-5) in the first stepladder match on Monday with the winner taking on Letran. – GMANews.TV

-Almost a triple-double. Baste never felt ryan's departure because of this kid. He makes basketball look so easy, just like a kid having fun in the playground.

    BRAVO BASTE
