Eric Suguitan?
I wonder why Bong Melocoton didn't see action last year for the Generals.* Hubalde and Manansala didn't play for EAC last Saturday versus the Lightnings.
Opening Day for the 6th UCAA season is on August 25 at the Arena in San Juan

MBL: Lightnings strike again
from : Peoples Tonight
ACSAT rode on the heroics of Nicholas Pupos to edge Rusty Lopez, 70-68 and join 3T Corporation in the lead in the 2007 MBL Open basketball tournament at the UM gym.* Pupos, a 6-0 find from Cagayan de Oro City, drove to the basket against four Rusty Lopez defenders and hit the marginal basket as time expired.
Pupos' basket came after two-time PBL MVP Jason Castro was whistled for a traveling violation with 34 seconds left and the score tied at 68-all.
The win enabled ACSAT to tie 3T Corp. for the lead with identical 4-1 win-loss slates in this tournament sponsored by Dickies Underwear, Wild Man Sandals and Slippers, PRC Couriers, Big Boy Restaurant and Boulevard Mansion.
Pupos finished with 24 points and two other players also scored in double figures for ACSAT of coach Ricky Alcantara and Chad Mallari.
Rey Burgos added 11 and Allan Recla contributed 10 for the Lightnings.* Ramon Retaga carried the fight for Rusty Lopez with 17 points, followed by Beau Belga with 10 and Castro with nine.
Retaga nailed back-to-back triples as Rusty Lopez of coach Daniel Espaldon and manager Gil Flororita rallied from a 56-63 deficit to threaten at 63-62.* A short jumper by Castro later tied the score at 68-all with only 40 seconds remaining.
ACSAT (70) -- Pupos 24, Burgos 11, Recla 10, Bularon 8, Suguitan 7, Jabaybay 6, Lapuz 2, Dela Pena 2, Contreras 0, Poblete 0, Casil 0.
Rusty Lopez (6-- Retaga 17, Belga 10, Castro 9, Flores 8, Diaz 6, Pinera 6, Khalili 5, Alforque 4, Jimenez 3, Manabat 0, Villarta 0.

Eric Suguitan once played for UE warriors in 2003. he moved to san beda and played in pre season tournaments like the nike summer league last 2006.Originally Posted by christian
moving to acsat would require him to undergo residency based on the general requirements and qualifications # 4 a transferee student who is officially listed in the official line-up of the uaap , ncaa, cusa, wncaa, naascu and ucaa shall be allowed to play in the ucaa provided that he or she has established a one year residency.
i wonder if acsat knows that eric played for ue warriors in 2003. or does management of acsat knows that despite eric played 4 years ago for ue warriors he can just get away with the residency requirements....

if im not mistaken... the rule states that only transferees from member schools of the UCAA are given 1 year residency... and since UE and Sn Beda are not members of UCAA... then saguitan can play.
Im not 100% certain on this though... pls correct me if im wrong.
transferees from uaap, ncaa, naascu, cusa , ncraa and ucaa will require 1 year residency. in the case of robert solon of the up maroons who played in UP in 1996-1999 and became inactive till he moves to ncba in 2001, the ncba forfeited its all their games in the ncraa 2001 for failing to undergo the residency rule.Originally Posted by MykelV
the rule of the ucaa and ncraa are almost the same. the only difference is that in the ucaa a team can play another tournament while the ucaa is on going. while the ncraa does not permit any team to field the same line -up in any other leagues on the duration of the ncraa.
