correct me if i'm wrong but thoyib was not allowed to play in the ncaa because he played in a commercial league in indonesia? ncaa rules does not allow playing in a commercial league prior to joining the ncaa. i think that the same goes with the ucaa.
Yes the Lightnings will be without welland munoz but i hear they have 4 new additions and all 4 are pretty good. Ive watched them in the Fr Martins Summer league and i think they have a good chance of taking home the trophy this year. Lets just wait and see.
yes the rules in the UCAA also do not allow players who have played in commercial leagues prior to joining the UCAA.
Lightnings all the way.
who were the Lightnings' opponent in the FMC when you watched them play?Originally Posted by MykelV

I saw acsat play against arellano U and Letran. They lost by less than six points on both games if m not mistaken.
The EAC Generals will go up against UCAA and NCRAA rival the ACSAT Lightnings on Saturday July 28, 2007.* This is a tune up match but expect both schools to go all out for the win and a psychological advantage going into the UCAA season next month.* Game time is 8pm at the EAC sports complex.* Good luck to both teams.
Opening Day for the 6th UCAA season is on August 25
ACSAT prevails over EAC in pre-season tournament
It was supposed to be a pre-season tournament. However, with the way the ACSAT Lightnings and the EAC Generals played one would think that it was game three of the UCAA finals. Leading most of the way during the game, the Asian College of Science and Technology Lightnings defeated a hard fighting and very physical Emilio Aguinaldo College Generals squad 76-67 at the EAC sports center.
The Lightnings started very strong leading 20-10 as the Generals were assessed 3 flagrant fouls in the first quarter, with ACSAT guard Angel Quilaquiga scoring on all 6 free throw attempts. However, the Generals tightened their defense in the second canto which allowed them to score 10 straight points to tie the score at 20-all. Come backing Bong Melocoton scored heavily in this decisive run wherein he used his veterans smarts to outplay whoever was guarding him. Hallftime score was 33 to 28 in favor of the Lightnings.
The third quarter saw the Generals take the lead for the first time however ACSAT big man(don't know his name yet) number 5 scored 9 straight points including a three point basket to put the Lightnings ahead. This was further punctuated by a buzzer beating 3-point basket by ACSAT reserve point guard Nelson Nuñal to peg the score at 58-50.
The fourth quarter was very physical as both teams were call for flagrant fouls. A free for all almost broke out during the dying seconds of the game when ACSAT forward DR Contreras was punched in the mouth. The Generals have slew of new players which included very athletic guards and wingmen notably number 7. They also paraded an Iranian player(number eight) who can drive or post up, grab rebounds and hit free throws. This season EAC will definitely rely heavily on Bong Melecoton as he is the only veteran on the team with the departure of Ronjay Buenafe, and Gester Ebuen.
I hate to say this guys but i told you ACSAT got good new recruits... Did you see their new 6'7" player Saguitan... And ACSAT wasnt even with their main point guard Harvey Igtos.
I know its too early and the season hasnt started but ive said it before and ill say it again... i really think ACSAT has a good chance of going all the way this year.
Go Lightnings!!!
