This series promises to be the most boring series ever in sports history.
All I want from you is a brand new sunrise.

Congratulations to the Red Sox Nation.

Boos go to A-Rod and Scott Boras for taking the spotlight away from the Series....

Bumping up this thread to update for the 2008 major league baseball season. The NBA is reaching the final stretch of the 2008-08 season and baseball will take its place in the focus of US professional sports fans.

And of course to report on how my beloved New York Yankees are doing.

The New York Yankees came from behind to edge out the Seattle Mariners 6-5 to sweep their series at New York and even out their record for this season to 25-25. They have been struggling mainly due to injuries to catcher Jorge Posada and third baseman Alex Rodriguez which made them miss a significant number of games and to the dismal performance of their rookie blue chip pitchers Phil Hughes and Ian Kennedy whom they expected to carry the load as starters to the extent that they turned down a trade offer from the Minnessota Twins for these pitchers for their ace, Johann Santana. Moreover, infielders Jason Giambi and Robinson Cano have both been hitting below .200 for much of this season.

A bright spot though is they are in a much better position, standings-wise, this year than a year ago. They are just five games behind the AL East leader Tampa Bay Devil Rays (surprise, surprise).

They have been playing real Yankees baseball the past five games. Cano and Giambi have greatly improved their batting statistics. Sana tuloy-tulay na ito, at least for them to reach their 14th consecutive playoff appearance.

    Let's go Yankees!

The Detroit Tigers stumbling start has been a real downer, considering all the high expectations from the signings of Edgar Renteria and Miguel Cabrera. Thank God we still have the Red Wings and the Pistons for a few more weeks ... before the Lions join the Tigers in the sports pages. ;D

Add to that former Florida Marlins stars Dontrell and Cabrera.

As for my Indians, well they're struggling a bit offense a anemic the pitching though is doing decent.

How about this for fan safety? A spectator gets hit by a shattered bat, and she can't sue the ball club to pay for her bills because of "assumption of risk" when watching ball games.

Somewhat akin to the Middle Eastern reasoning that it's your fault for being there when you meet an accident. :P

    ^^^

Next thing we know, you will be able to buy an insurance product just for that specific risk on a specific game. :D
