Re: KNights in the Off-Season - CCL, Fr.Martin, PBL...

    Sayang yung pagkatalo niyo.

Up by ten points midway in the 4th quarter, had Jazul been wiser in calling the plays on two possessions and stretch the lead, it would have taken the fight out of the Archers. Then, in your last possession, score tied, Jazul drove but decided to pass at the last moment ! Just as everyone thought he would take the shot himself. Sayang yun.

But this is the kind of game that makes players learn and play right.

From what I saw yesterday, inspite of the departure of Aban and Bautista, this a better offensive team. Every player is obliged to contribute now. That makes the Knights a less predictable team in offense, w/c to my opinion, makes them more difficult to defend against.

Yung depensa ay hindi nagbago. Matigas at mabilis, is how I would describe it.

We had a head start in this game. At one time we had a glorious 3rd place finish in the World Championship and was the undisputed power in Asia. But the world has learned how to play it. They may not be as good as us,but they have enough smarts to make use of their height. That is enough to beat us.

I was praying all the time for Letran to beat La Salle, but then at the end of fourth at nag-ovetime alam ko na La Salle ang mananalo. Letran showed La Salle a scare by leading them all the way to the fourth, nakahabol nga lang yong La Salle after they connected with long range shots. As time would passes by, Letran system of basketball has always been excellent with or without star players along-side. Sayang it would have been a good story of Knights winning without Bautista and Aban. Tama si Oca, after loosing Bautista and Aban, its harder to predict who will score for the Knights.

Bakit pala wala si Louie Alas?

thanks bugleboy for the play by play details...how i wish i was there too and give support to our team...nadagdagan pa sana tayo ng isa dun. (make that 11)

Without our 2 main gunners, understandbly nawalan ng gana ang ating gallery, alam kasi nila na puro depensa na lang ang natira, thus giving little hope for the current team. But with the way you described the game here, mukhang meron pa rin ibubuga next season, kulang lang kasi tayo sa "tirador" in the mold of Ronjay or Aldave.

The "D" is already there, a signature of coach Alas. Just a couple of steady shooters and a 'big man', i mean bigger man than the present centers (faundo and foronda). Hope we can recruit one impact playersr in our team during the off season.

yeah, dear old Barbie...di naten matatawaran ang pagka dugong arriba niyan...a batchate of mine, actually.

    arriba

Mark Balneg is now the main man for the Knights.

He can play a good D and can hit those 3 pointers. However, parang yun lang yung nakikita kong offensive weapon niya. If he can approximate the offensive skills of Aaron Aban, malayo ang mararating ng taong ito.

He needs to practice his inside game and medium range jumpers. Pero sa 3 years na natitirand eligibility niya, siguradong mas gagaling pa yan in the next 2 years.

I think he only has a year left for the Knights.

It was fun watching Balneg hounding Escobal all over the court while whispering sweet nothings. To his credit, it was pure honest to goodness "D". And he does that to all the opposing team's main gunners he's assigned to guard. I also give credit to Pong for not losing his touch and staying 'cool' througout the ordeal.

Bwahahaha. Nadale mo padre. Actually, Pong had to stay cool kasi nakakatakot talaga si Balneg. And you are right, it was an ordeal. ;D

He made Pong tougher.

for me, Next Aaron aban yung Guevarra.

We have a team B player serving out his residency waiting in the wings. From the buzz in the letran camp, he could be the next big thing after the exit the former stars of coach Alas. Knowing the coach'discreet style, he's slowly molding this guy from obscurity to star potential. Hanggang doon lang muna ako baka kasi ma-usog pa.

But your RL would still be a tough nut to crack. Give our team at least2yrs to be competetive once more.
