RED LIONS ROAR TO TITLE

It was a rough and tumble game but in the end San
Beda hung tough for the pull-away 85 - 69 victory to claim the 2009
Nike Summer League championship over San Sebastian. Early on, the
Stags served notice that this would, quite literally, be a fight
to the end against the Red Lions, and to their eternal credit, San
Beda didn’t bite, but boy did they roar.

FINAL 4 A GO, JUNIOR FINALS SET

Developments off the court influenced the Elite 8
stage of this year’s Nike Summer League – not the least
of which was the withdrawal of Ateneo De Manila from the senior
division competitions. Without Ateneo, only two UAAP schools –
the Nike-sponsored Far Eastern University Tamaraws and the Adamson
University Falcons – saw action in the Elite 8.

of the Nike Summer League, and now it is down to the Final 4. After
some six weeks of top-notch basketball competition, the Nike Summer
