A SEASON STILL SPECIAL
(06/10/09)

Sports is one field that is very much straightforward. A season or a campaign can easily be gauged as to whether to deem it a success or a failure. A gold medal would hang around the neck of the champion marathoner or sprinter. Even in the world of team sports it is just as black and white. At the end of the Super Bowl, the World Series, the Stanley Cup or the NBA Finals the winning team hoists the championship trophy aloft. >> read more

By Joseph W Buduan of gameface.ph (06/17/09)

It was a rough and tumble game but in the end San Beda hung tough for the pull-away 85 - 69 victory to claim the 2009 Nike Summer League championship over San Sebastian. In its 72nd season, the Universities Athletic Association of the Philippines or UAAP is looking a lot like a very complicated telenovela, straight out of the prime time dream factories of the local television giants. 85 years is an awfully long time. Most people that old would probably be already on an assisted living diet, maybe even already wearing adult diapers, or writing their last will and testament.
