Manila, Philippines –The defending champion Adamson Lady Falcons and last season’s runner up FEU Lady Tamaraws remained on track on another possible Finals confrontation as they beat respective foes in the UAAP Season 73 women’s basketball on Sunday in FilOil Flying V Arena in San Juan.

FEU, meanwhile, also chalked up its fifth win in as many games to tie the Lady Falcons on top with a 94-56 beating of the still winless UE Lady Warriors.

Raiza Palmera had 21 points and 10 rebounds to lead the way for the Lady Tamaraws, who shot 45 percent from the floor and badly outrebounded the Lady Warriors, 66-32.

Allan Lim was the other Lady Tamaraw who hit in double figures with 18 poins and 5 boards while four more teammates scored 7 points or more.

UE remained at the cellar with a 0-5 mark.

Over at the Philsports Arena, the UST Tigresses escaped past the Ateneo Lady Eagles, 72-66, using a big third quarter run.

The Tigresses outscored the Lady Eagles, 23-13 in the searing third period to take a 58-50 lead from a 35-37 deficit at the half.

UST protected the lead in the fourth period to notch its third win against two losses while Ateneo fell to 2-3.

Kristine Siapoc and Maryjoy Galicia paced the Tigresses with 15 and 13 points, respectively.

In the other women’s match at the Philsports Arena, the De La Salle Lady Archers tied UST with a 72-49 thumping of the UP Lady Maroons.

The Lady Archers led from start to finish with Hannah Viterbo catching fire from beyond the arc.

Viterbo shot 4-of-5 from the three-point zone to finish with 17 points while Eileen Urieta and Kady Wilson backstopped her with 15 and 12 markers, respectively.
