whats a panalay game?

IT'S a vernacular term for a game wherein a specific player is paid to play, usually for that and that game only. Think around other local basketball jargon like "hugot" or "import". The amount may range from as low as five hundred to as much as thousands of pesos for the more famous and skilled players. This occurs a lot during town fiestas wherein they stage village pocket tournaments. If the organizers are well funded, the players may also get a share of the champions' pot money aside from their per game fees.

varsity players who play panalay on fiesta leagues or open leagues would get penalized!

@amamangloy, that's only when the CeSAFI is ongoing. Other than that, some schools don't allow their players to do it.
