sayang ung tandem na nat cruz and jeff martin. actually guys kaya pa sana bumalik ni martin kaso masyadong tumaba and siguro nawalan ng gana sa basketball, lumipat sila ni cruz sa adamson pero hanggang team b nalang. lakas sana ng mapua nung 2002, 2003, 2004 and 2005...isipin mo erwin sta maria, christian guevarra, gonzales, martin, cruz, malig (lumipat ng SSCR), david (lumipat ng PCU), co, del rosario...sayang talaga! hehe

MArtin's worst injury is nto the ACL he suffered right in his rookie year. He was afflicted with the dreaded brain sprain early on.

nag-PBL siya.. i remember he pulled like 20+ rebounds in a game.. nanalo din siya ng award sa pbl.. parang academic something eh..

Ernesto Ballesteros, 1991 MAPUA Red Robins: member of the 1995 & 1996 UAAP Champions UST TIGERS.
Henry Ong, 1991 MAPUA Red Robins: member of the 1995 & 1996 UAAP Champions UST TIGERS.
Mark Telan, 1992 NCAA MVP for the MAPUA Red Robins: 1996 & 1997 UAAP MVP for the DLSU ARCHERS.

Henry Ong is also part of the 1994 UST champion team. He was a freshman then. As early as his freshman year, pinapatay na niyan ang La Salle.. :D In game 3 of the 1994 championship, with La Salle leading by 10 (forgot what quarter), Henry unloaded back-to back triples from opposite corners to cut the lead to 4 just like that and the rest as they say is history.

Actually he went to La Salle first with fellow Red Robin and 1993 NCAA juniors MVP DonDon Valerio. But coach Virgil only had room for the MVP and La Salle's lost was UST's gain.

Some Red Robins who went to La Salle were :

1993 - Mark Clemence Telan (1992 NCAA juniors mvp)
1994 - DonDon Valerio (1993 NCAA juniors mvp)
1998 - Adonis Sta. Maria

..and some good ones I can remember :

Ballesteros, Ogie Gumatay (subject of tug-of war between La Salle and UP), Ortiguerra, Ejercito, Aguilar, Galinato etc. etc..

Probably the greatest Mapua High product would be Freddie Hubalde who while still in high school was promoted to play in the Seniors team with then King Cardinal Atoy Co.

Did Ruben De La Rosa play for the Red Robin? If he did then he gets a strong vote.

Saw him practicing as a HS player with the seniors team of Benny Cheng, Kevin Ramas, Boogie Olano, Bong Marasigan, Oca Cabrera and one of the Madrid boys. Was tearing them up with his high flying moves. A great athletic specimen. What makes him even more impressive is that supposedly one of his fingers in his shooting hand (the pinky?) has a broken ligament(?) and had limited motion. That probably explains his preference to do two handed dunks (the baseline reverse pump is a favorite).

A certain guy named Macmac Tabaquero was in the line-up or Red Robins at the 2003 season. Magaling siya. Lumilipad sa ere.. I have high hopes for him. He transferred to UE. Played for a year. Tapos di ko na nakita ule.. sayang.. magaling pa naman..
