Falcons not pulling out, says Austria

The Falcons are here to stay.

This was the assurance made by Adamson coach Leo Austria yesterday amid rumors circulating through the Internet that the Falcons are bolting out of the UAAP.

“That’s impossible. How can that be? Do you think there’s a school here in the UAAP that wants to disband?” said Austria, a former PBA star and its 1986 top rookie.

Rumors started to spread yesterday that the Falcons, having great difficulty picking up wins in the basketball court this year, are pulling out of the premiere collegiate league.

Austria, serving the first year of a three-year contract with the school, said he met with management yesterday and they discussed the future of the team.

“We talked about getting the alumni more involved. We talked about the future. I don’t know how all these talks started and who’s behind them,” he said.

Adamson returns to the court on Saturday when it take on La Salle at the Philsports Arena.

The Falcons have won only two of their 11 games so far this season and with only three games left are actually out of the running for a Final Four berth.

But certainly, Austria added, they’re not moving out. – Abac Cordero

Maybe they should just use their B Team, at least those guys leave their guts on the court down to the last man.

baka may hidden skeletons siguro

pero kung bolting out for the sole reason of losing shouldn't even be considered

Baka akala nila Agustin = Adamson kasi mukhang nag give up na si Agustin. Done for the season, out forever?

Basketball is not the only sports in the UAAP. They are strong in Volleyball especially womens. I will miss Sang Laguilles.

Malaki ang implications kapag nagkaroon ng untimely pull out ang Adamson men's basketball team. Remember that basketball is a required sport in the league and once a member university's basketball team either pulls out voluntarily or gets suspended, all the other teams in other UAAP events will also have to pull out or get suspended.

But then, since tsismis lang naman ito, charge it to experience na lang. May pag-asa pa naman ang Adamson when they face NU next Thursday.
