I read in another thread within the forum that there are going to be changes in the eligibilty rules for mens basketball. Based on the thread, STI will likely be decimated by the new rules.

Can anyone write down the changes as well as the impact to the current member teams?

Thanks.

In order for the NAASCU to become a reputable league, changes have to be made so that it can have its own identity and hopefully produce its own stars. One rule that will take effect next school year is that the maximum age of any athlete is 23 years old. This is down from the 25 year old maximum age limit.

This was amended last June 2007 and will take effect this school year. A lot of schools will be affected this year since most of their veterans will be decimated since some will be ineligible by this school year. Our own team alone, only 5 will be returning since most of the veterans are all either 24 or 25.

But I think after this school year all schools will be able to adjust to this rule.
