Makati-Pamplona-Nojo banked on the intensity of former Far Eastern University standout R.B. Mangahas to subdue formerly unbeaten 3T Corporation, 93-77, and tighten the race in the 2007 Metropolitan Basketball League (MBL) Invitational Second Conference at the CCP gym in Sta. Mesa, Manila.

Mangahas made 19 of his game-high 32 points in the third quarter to lead the Peter Tioseco-mentored Makati to its third win in five matches in this eight-team, single-round tournament.

Mangahas's third-quarter explosion enabled Makati to turn a close contest against 3T into a rout.

Ex-pro E.J. Feihl added 20 points and Caloy Sario contributed 17 points for Makati, which snapped a two-game losing skid.

Former Philippine Chrisitan University bet Liztian Amparado led 3T Corp with 19 points, followed by Luis Palaganas with 14, and Jay-ar Estrada with 12.

In the second game, Nougat Candy outsteadied Koi Village, 80-70, for its first win in four matches.

Kelwin Ang, Mike Salon, Alvin Teng, and Robert Lagar combined for 43 points for Nougat, which outscored Koi, in a 28-13 run, in the third period to win with plenty to spare.

i dont think MBL stands for metropolitan as metropolitan basketball tournament (MBT) is one of their rival leagues.

This MBL stands for Millenium and is headed by Peoples tonight sports editor Ed Andaya, an offshoot to the founding league PICAA by Graham Lim after Andaya got the boot in Lim's stable. Andaya is supported by businessman-sportsman Alex Wang.

maierhoffer? parang PBL na yan ah. alam kaya ni boss mikee kung saan saan naglalaro mga player nya?

Maierhoffer is a mainstay of the De La Salle Green Archers. Siguro na hatak ni Jerwin Gaco sya. Former Archer player kasi sya.
