FYI:

The reason for the non-participation of the NCRAA and UCAA is due to its board resolution that both league will only participate in the CCL if both the no. 1 & 2 ranks of the league will be invited.

The CCL turned down the conditions set by UCAA and the NCRAA.

May punto sila. Bakit nga naman yung UAAP and NCAA hanggang 3rd runner up kasali. Yung iba, league champions lang?

Smells like discrimination. ;D

Fact is, last year, except for the University of the Visayas, the round of 8 was a UAAP/NCAA affair.

Kung ako nasa katayuan nila, it would have been wiser to make the CCL organizers commit to invite both their 1 and 2 next year if their representative this year would make it past the first round.

Dapat muna nilang patunayan na malakas nga ang kanilang mga koponan with the results to back it up.

Infact, suggestion yan sa mga organizers, if any representative from a non-UAAP / non-NCAA school advances to the round of 8, in next year's edition, both FINALIST from that non-UAAP/ non-NCAA league will get outright invites.

For the UAAP and NCAA schools, the league with less than half of the teams advancing past the first round should receive fewer invites next year.

May punto rin si sir Oca.

Its time to rethink the name Collegiate CHAMPIONS League since hindi na ganun ang nangyayari.

Each league will field in their runner up and champion para ayos lahat at akma sa name ng tournament.

Suggestion lang po. ;D

I think kung yan ang gustong resolution ng dalawang ligang yan then maybe its has to emphasize that UAAP and NCAA teams are to be lessen in favor of a few deserving slots for other regional champions.

Hindi sa nang-iintriga, pero hindi ba naglalaro rin ang EAC sa Battle of Champions this year? It could also have something to do with the FESSAP, the BAP, and the SBP (of which the UAAP and NCAA are major stakeholders).

Thanks, General. I was actually looking forward in seeing the Chiefs.

I think the reason why UAAP and NCAA teams get 4 representatives each is because malakas ang hatak sa marketing, etc. The games are held here in Manila. Mapapanood ba ito sa probinsya (VIS-MIN)? I hope so.

But as pointed out by many here, calling it a Champion's League with champions from respective leagues not joining is a misnomer. Maganda rin siguro nga na i-expand ang roster to 32 teams, or at least the Top 2 finishers from each league gets an automatic slot sa CCL. Then scrap the seeding and instead draw lots na lang, para patas talaga. Since ALL are champions in their own (rights) leagues, I think seeding is irrelevant.

The other "provincial" leagues may be inferior (higly debatable), but I guess it's just fair that they are properly represented if they (and every league) is allowed to play their respective champs and runner-ups.

Pwede rin yan ang scenario, officials of both leagues are one of the key figures in the BAP but the thing is that like oca said, they should prove something before they could say that they are legit in taking two teams in the champions league.

Tapos nahalo pa FEU at Lyceum (na ang men's team ay parang kung anu anong liga na ang sinasali) sa mix ng teams as a way to compensate the loss of SFACS and Arellano.

Sayang sana nasama Arellano, san kaya magcocoach si Leo Isaac? ???

TECHNICAL OPERATIONS OF THE GAMES:

Mr. Chino Trinidad is the Commissioner of the Collegiate Champions League and together with his technical and support team will be responsible for all the operational and technical aspects of the tournament.

Players who are playing in the PBL will be allowed to play for their respective collegiate teams. The scheduling of both PBL and CCL games will consider this particular situation.

Only players who have been drafted in the professional league (PBA) may be replaced by a team. The replacement player, however, must be approved by the “mother league” of the concerned team.

All qualified teams are to submit their official line-up as approved/fielded during their respective league competitions. However, CCL reserves the right to disallow/disqualify players in the spirit of fair collegiate basketball competition as advocated by the League.

MEDIA COVERAGE:

CCL is in partnership with Solar Entertainment for the television coverage of the games. Part of the support being provided by Solar is the media promotion of the games thru television pluggings and inclusion of CCL stories in their sports update shows.
