Just wanted to get people to start posting in the Adamson forum again! Hehe!

Off the top of my head, the following people are all former Falcons who are now playing in the PBA. What can you say about them? Please feel free to add the names of those I missed.

Marlou Aquino (Sta. Lucia)

Kenneth Duremdes (Coca Cola)

Eddie Laure (Alaska)

Melvin Mamaclay (Sta. Lucia)

Ken Bono (Alaska)

Kenneth Duremdes and Marlou Aquino already made their mark in the PBA.

Bono and Mamaclay are yet to be seen as they were just rookies.

Laure is like a rollercoaster. Minsan magaling, minsan hindi. ;D

* * *Are Team B players included?* John Ferriols of Alaska and Joey Mente of Welcoat both spent a semester or two at Adamson before transferring to other schools.

Marlou Aquino was a former Tiger Cub who later transferred to Adamson in the early 90s. One of the most dominant centers of all time in the PBA. Siya ang bumuhay ng Ginebra in 1996 when he and Bal David turned things around for Coach Jaworski's team after mediocre performances in 1992, 1993, 1994 and 1995. Aquino was a rookie of the year in 96.

Si Kenneth Duremdez naman will be considered one of the greatest all-time slashers in the PBA. Galing niya especially sa fast-break plays. Later, nag improved rin siya sa outside shooting when he transferred sa Alaska.

Kay Eddie Laure naman, he was one of the most dominating forward's when he was still playing in the defunct Metropolitan Basketball Association. When he transferred to Shell, medyo nawala ang galing niya. Siguro dahil na rin he played limited minutes. From thereon, nagpalipat-lipat na siya ng teams sa PBA. He can still play the game pero he lacks consistency.

Mamaclay and Bono, meanwhile, are still young so may future pa ang dalawa na ito. Lalo na si Bono na 2006 MVP sa UAAP. Its just so sad na he has to take the back seat sa mga established na stars sa Alaska. Pero hintay lang siya ng time niya kasi I'm sure, he will have a bright future sa team. Look at Cyrus Baguio of Red Bull. When he started, bangko lang siya pero once he got the feel of the PBA brand of play, ayan, kumador na siya even leading the Barakos
this year in point production.

Pana-panahon nga iyan ika nga nila.

Ken Bono doesn't seem to be getting the playing time a former UAAP MVP usually gets. Is he injured or something?

On the contrary, Ken Bono is perfectly healthy and has actually shed about 20 pounds from his amateur playing weight. Unfortunately for him he was drafted by a superstar-laden Alaska team and has not yet been given enough minutes by his coach to prove himself in the PBA. :(

With Ken Bono going to Magnolia, how exactly is his playing time situation supposed to get any better?

He found it hard getting minutes on an Alaska lineup that had Sonny Thoss, John Feriols and Reynel Hugnatan. His fellow rookie JR Quinahan saw a bit more action than he did.

It looks like minutes will be even more scarce over at Magnolia, what with Dorian Pena, Sam Eman, Enrico Villanueva and Danny Ildefonso rotating at both the 4 and 5 spots.

How I would love to see the spot-up three-pointers coming off the kick-out pass from Ken Bono again. It was an effective weapon in the UAAP and the PBL, and it should be a good weapon in the PBA. Will Coach Siot Tanquincen play him as a forward alongside the other bigs and let him take those treys? Or is he going to be buried deep in the long pines of Magnolia because of a crowded and deep frontline?

Kenneth Duremdes played in three Asian Games: 1994 Hiroshima, 1998 Bangkok & 2002 Busan. In 1994 he was one of three amateurs (Marlou Aquino & Jeff Cariaso) that made it to that RP Team.

He placed 2nd in the MVP voting of the 1993 UAAP season to Dennis Espino. If it weren't for the sweep of UST, Duremdes could have snatched the MVP trophy that year.

One of the 25 Greatest PBA players of All-Time, Kenneth is a product of the Notre Dame of Marbel HS in Koronadal City (formerly Marbel), South Cotabato.

I don't think Feihl is still active in the PBA, is he?

Anyway I'm so happy for Eddie Laure, he's getting the minutes and numbers worthy of a former MVP in his new team Rain or Shine. It doesn't seem like he was given a break in Alaska.

nakalimutan yata natin si HECTOR CALMA.. he is one of the best point guards during his time. with regard to ken bono.. i think if he will be given additional playing time, we will make a good account of himself... By the way, newbie po ako dito sa adamson lair. Batch '94 and during my tenure at adamson, akala ko magcha-champion tayo becasue of formidable fronlines of aquino, pineda, kenneth, art dabao, etc.. unfortunately, during those times, kasabayan nila sina johnny a., jun limpot, cardsel, vic pablo, dennis espino and rey evangelista...

^ Hector Calma is undoubtedly one of the most successful basketball players to come out of Adamson, unfortunately this thread is about ex-Falcons that are still playing in the PBA.

Calma is currently managing the San Miguel Beermen and 2006 UAAP MVP Kenneth Bono is one of his players on this team.

^ Not too sure about Alcaraz but I know that Andaya studied at Adamson.

Another ex-Falcon currently in the PBA is LA Tenorio.

John Paul Alcaraz entered Letran as a transferee from Las Pinas College. He was once the CUSA MVP while playing for LPC.

Former UAAP MVP Ken Bono should move to Red Bull. At the rate his career is going with San Miguel his first PBA contract might be his last. It might also be a good idea to fire his agent and get a new one. With all the deadwood getting minutes in the PBA it is a crime that Bono, the 2006 UAAP MVP, is not getting his minutes.

yeah, i agree with you joescoundrel. ken bono should look for another team in the PBA to get a good playing time otherwise his talent will be in futility....** :'(
