^What is a "Saker"? Gumagawa ng Korean sake? Buti nakakalaro pa sila ng matino. Una sake at ginebra ang pinaglaban. Tapos, sake at beer naman! ;D

Another Korean team to play in Manila
Koreans jazz up PBA pre-season

PBA ballclubs strut their stuff and size up the field with the staging of a short pre-season tournament which fires off Sept. 8 featuring All-Filipino champion Barangay Ginebra against Purefoods at the San Sebastian-Cavite gym.

The visiting KT&G team from Korea spices up the pre-season event, playing five tune-up games against five different PBA teams.

The Welcoat Dragons are the first team to test the Koreansí mettle at 4 p.m. at The Arena in San Juan on Sept. 10.

Alaska Milk, the Fiesta Cup titlist and winner of the 2006 pre-season tilt, is the second team to play the KT&G squad also at 4 p.m. in the same San Juan playing venue.

San Miguel Beer, Red Bull and Coca-Cola are the three other teams given the opportunity to tangle with the visiting squad.

The 10 PBA teams are divided into two groups in the pre-season tourney won by Alaska over San Miguel last year.

The teams play one round-robin in each group after which the top squads from each bracket advance to the one-game final.

Alaska, Coca-Cola, Sta. Lucia, Red Bull and San Miguel compose Group A while Talk n Text, Welcoat, Purefoods, Air21 and Barangay Ginebra make up Group B.

The Aces and the Phone Pals, the title protagonists in the recent Fiesta Cup, were seeded separately. The rest of the teams were divided evenly according to their order of finish last campaign.

The tourney also affords the PBA teams to make their final assessments on their prospective lineup for the coming season. Official roster for the 33rd PBA season will be submitted to the Commissionerís Office after the pre-season event.
