It would still be Mark Borboran and Marcy Arellano in my book. UE has been playing outstanding basketball, sweeping the first round and getting unexpected blowouts against good teams like Lasalle and FEU and surviving close calls against well-coached teams like Ateneo and NU.

In all of these games it has been the steady presence of Arellano and Borboran that has spelled the difference. Do you really think James Martinez, Barry Llagas, Jorel Canizares, Hans Thiele and Mark Fampulme are getting the good looks they are getting now on their own? Truth is - in spite of their numbers - it is the leadership and experience of Borboran and Arellano that have made all of this possible. Look at who Coach Dindo Pumaren looks to in the clutch - still Arellano and Borboran.

That the other Warriors are going great guns is nothing to sneeze at of course, and they have indeed run roughshoud over the field thus far as a team, and the senior stars have not put up their usual numbers. But make no mistake about it: if and when UE hoists the Season 70 Basketball Crown it will be chiefly because of Arellano and Borboran. And if they fail, these two will also take most of the blame.

Tumpak na tumpak ang inyong mga saloobin Sir Sam. Kung hindi dahil sa dalawang veteran players na ito malamang matagal ng nabahiran ang kartada natin ngayon.
