From what I heard, Ateneo and San Beda both murdered their opponents in the high school division. Dynasty's back (in UAAP/NCAA) for both winningest junior teams.

San Beda won both Junior and All-Stars game against Letran. But both were close games.

In the Jrs., what was thought to be an easy game for the Cubs became a litmus test on how to cope withOUT a Marcelo on court. The big kid had 2 fouls in the 1st quarter and committed his 4th late in the third. Hence, he rode the bench most of the time. The Squires capitalized on his absence making for a close game.

Though the Squires were defeated on this one, I think they feel more confident about their chances against the Cubs next NCAA season. Alam nila na si Marcelo ang magdadala sa Cubs. Now they know they have to challenge him game long. Not be intimidated and force him into foul trouble early.

In the All-Stars, it was a two point victory for the Red Lions.

The Knights had a chance to send the game to OT. But Badong Ramos, apparently "misread" the scoreboard and opted to take an ill-advised 3 pointer that was way off to the right.

San Beda controlled the game maintaining 10 to 12 point leads most of the way. Letran's rally was prompted by San Beda's poor free-throw shooting. It was a simple case of San Beda getting fouled and missing their charities and Letran scoring on thier end of the court.

The big play for San Beda was when Reroma made a 3 pointer to give San Beda a 5 point cushion with less than 2 minutes left. But Reroma almost became goat when he also missed 4 free-throws. The last two in their final possession before the 3pt miss by Ramos.

I also heard that Ateneo's Bacon Austria outplayed the Ferdinand guy from La Salle (LSGH ba?), which was good news. As for the dynasty being back, though, let's be cautiously optimistic and see what happens in the season ;)

San Beda Red Cubs won over LaSalle GH.

San Beda AS suited with 7 men. One got injured early in the 1st qtr, and rotated 6 men the rest of the game. Undermanned but still defeated DLSU AS via OT.

Why don't we update the Homegrown Cup web page? Are we still using that page? We stopped updating it as soon as the league started... no more clippings from newspapers posted there... the Win / Loss board says all "X"s...

Pulang Leon, thank you for reminding us. Gameface.ph is undergoing another major upgrade. We are converting all webpages into forum-based pages. We are in the middle of the planning stage and will now execute the same in the next few days. All Hardcore Leagues and Hardcore Squads will have a webpage soon.

We will keep you posted as soon as we announce an achievement of a milestone in the webpage development.
